A Tattoo is a permanent staining of skin, done by specialised needles to carefully insert special kind of inks deeply into the skin with specialised equipment in a decorative fashion. Tattoos are generally used by people as a statement of their personal beliefs, or for specific identification purposes, or as a fashion accessory for beautification. Rose tattoo designs are one of the most used and most popular designs and in constant demand from the olden times up to today.

The Rose: The rose stands poised as a single flower, while the beholder is captivated by the indefinite layers of twirling petals drenched with a sweet enthralling fragrance; it can not be doubted why it indeed is regarded as the Queen of all flowers.

A Rose Tattoo: A Rose tattoo design is usually worn by both members of the sex, exemplifying their love or emotions. Deciding for a rose tattoo is an excellent choice since a rose can be mingled with other symbolic objects to personify a tattoo to your specific liking. For instance, a rose vine can be drawn with a dagger, portraying dangerous love, or a rose fused with angels displaying something celestial for luck etc.

A rose tattoo is almost easily harmonised with different other symbols merged to represent a message; for example a rose combined with a cross depicting the person displaying it’s love of Jesus Christ, or otherwise, a rose fused with a skull, representing most likely the dark side of such person’s emotions. One can infer symbolic tattoos in many ways.

But what many people might not be aware of, is the different colours that these roses represents or the different symbolizing notions. A White rose may stand for virtuous and pure characteristics, a Black rose may signify evil or death, a yellow rose may mean friendship or jealousy and a blue rose may show impossibility or adventure.

A rose was also an epitome in Christianity; Virgin Mary was referred to as ‘the Mystic rose’ or ‘Heavenly rose’ for her divine act in the Holy Trinity. Apart from that, roses also implied martyrdom with reference to Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for the people. Hence, a rose tattoo also came about to embody the immense tender love of our Creator.

Virgin Mary was given the title of ‘The Mystic Rose’ for her spiritual role to Christianity. Roses also symbolise martyrdom and refers to Jesus Christ for his sacrifice on the cross to the people and the bloodshed by the martyrs. It divinely signifies the gentle but yet immense incomparable love God has for humanity.

Adding colour to the roses personifies the tattoo enhancing its significance and vitality to your persona, uniqueness and individual statement you would like to portray.
